CNA Workforce Enhancement Stipend Program

Returning Applicants

The Georgia CNA Career Pathway Initiative is pleased to announce the CNA Workforce Enhancement Stipend Program.

The purpose of this program is to support individuals while they complete their nurse aide training program and build their career working in a Georgia long-term care facility. The stipend can help with the cost of books, testing, child/elder care, travel, etc.

Stipend Payments

500 stipends of $5,000 will be paid across three payments as an individual achieves the following milestones.

  • Stipend Payment One ($1,250): Upon starting the nurse aide training program
  • Stipend Payment Two ($1,250): Upon completing the nurse aide training program and achievement of CNA certification
  • Stipend Payment Three ($2,500): Upon completing three months of tenure in a Georgia long-term care facility

Stipend Forms

Each stipend payment has an individual application form. You will need to complete each application to obtain each of the three payments.

Stipend Milestones

All stipend eligibility milestones must be completed in sequence.

Stipend Payment One

Stipend Payment Two

Stipends are in sequence. You must have received Stipend One before applying for Stipend Two.

To be eligible for Stipend Payment Two, each individual must:

  • Receive Stipend Payment One
  • Complete the didactic and clinical requirements of an approved nurse aide training program in Georgia (the program must be approved by Alliant Health Solutions)
  • Pass the Nurse Aide Written (or Oral) Examination and Skills Evaluation
  • Submit this application and proof of passing the written/oral examination and skills evaluation on or after the date nurse aide certification is received

Stipend Payment Three

Stipends are in sequence. You must have received Stipend One and Two before applying for Stipend Three.

To be eligible for Stipend Payment Three, each individual must:

  • Receive Stipend Payments One and Two
  • Complete three months of employment in a long-term care facility within the State of Georgia
  • Submit this application on or after the date they complete their third month of employment at a Georgia long-term care facility
  • Complete their three months of employment before March 31st, 2024

More Stipend Information

UGA IDM will verify that all information provided on the stipend application forms is accurate. For Stipend Payments One and Two, UGA IDM will contact an approved instructor for the nurse aide training program listed on the application. For Stipend Payment Three, UGA IDM will contact a supervisor at the long-term care facility listed on the application. Each form requires contact information from these positions.

Once an application is approved, payment will be processed in the form a check. This will require that the applicant registers as a vendor in UGA’s system. The check will be issued by the University of Georgia directly to the applicant. Each check is traceable and accountable in the UGA accounting system.
